Doris Agatha Babb Howell
was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. One of three children born to Mabel and Fitz Arthur Babb,
she graduated from Samuel Tilden High School, in Brooklyn. Doris married internist, Dr. Cecil Howell and bore a son.
(Dr. Michael Howell, an Oceanographic Professor)
Doris held employment at several firms, her final position being with Pfizer, Inc. as its stock and personnel manager.

Throughout her life, Doris was very active in church activities. Beginning as a Girl Scout and a member of the Young People's Fellowship in
St. Phillip's Episcopal Church, in Brooklyn, and ending with over 40 years of service in The Church Of The Resurrection,
in East Elmhurst, Queens, Doris served on the Vestry, was a Diocesan Convention Deputy, and was an active member of the
Sick And Shut-In Committee. Doris also was a member of The Archdeaconry Of Queens.

Doris was extremely active in the community. Her many social and political activities included service as a Learning Leader
at P.S. 127 and membership in The East Elmhurst - Corona Civic Association and The Frederick Douglass Democratic Club.

Doris dedicated her life to service according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and she exemplified this through
unselfish love and friendship to family and non-family alike. She forever will be remembered.


Happiness is a vague visitor
Neither invited nor dismissed
But Joy is a saving spirit
And when finally allowed into your soul
Will make an outcast of all misery
And color your living with God's smile
